Step into a pivotal role supporting students with unique learning and behavioral needs as an Autism or Emotional Support Interventionist for the 2026–2027 school year. This contract opportunity spans from August 10, 2026, through June 11, 2027, operating within structured educational settings in Carbon and Lehigh Counties. Positions focus on providing direct instructional and behavioral support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or emotional and behavioral challenges, working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and specialists to advance student growth.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Human Services, or related field preferred; Associate’s degree considered with minimum one year of relevant experience (three years preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with children/adolescents in one or more: Autism Spectrum Disorder, behavioral/emotional disabilities, mental health, behavioral health, ABA, school-based special education, residential treatment, or crisis intervention
- Strong behavior management, de-escalation, and data collection skills
- A calm, consistent demeanor during high-intensity situations
- Basic computer proficiency
- Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
- Submission must include one completed supervisor reference check
Role Highlights:
- Support students individually and in small groups within highly structured classrooms
- Implement behavior intervention plans, utilize evidence-based support strategies, and collect data for ongoing progress monitoring
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster positive academic and behavioral outcomes
- Assist with personal care as necessary and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
- Serve at 32.5–35 hours weekly, with regular school hours resuming in late August
