Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students in a Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) Level B classroom for the 2026–2027 school year. Located within a specialized learning environment near Bethlehem, PA, this hands-on role plays a vital part in empowering students with significant needs to succeed academically and personally.

In this position, you'll provide direct support to students in daily living, behavioral, and academic routines under the guidance of experienced classroom staff. Responsibilities include personal care (toileting, hygiene, feeding), mobility support, and facilitation of communication, while maintaining a safe, respectful, and responsive classroom atmosphere. You'll help students manage challenging behaviors, such as hitting, biting, elopement attempts, and more, by remaining patient, calm, and consistent, always following established safety protocols.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or similar role, preferably in a special education or school setting.
  • Must meet one of PA's paraprofessional requirements: 48 college credits, an associate degree or higher, or passing a qualified competency assessment (or be willing to obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Genuine comfort with personal care, mobility assistance, and providing support for students exhibiting complex behavioral needs.
  • Ability to work the full school-day schedule (approx. 7:00 AM–3:30 PM) and commute reliably within a 35-minute drive.
  • Calm demeanor, patience, and a passion for supporting students with significant needs.
  • Ability to participate in an in-person interview and complete all required onboarding steps.
