Instructional Assistant - Black Hawk, Colorado

Exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting student growth and success! A dedicated paraprofessional is needed to work as a 1:1 tutor with a second-grade student who is bright and eager to learn but requires individualized support to thrive. This is a unique chance to make a direct impact, helping a young learner develop confidence, social-emotional skills, and academic abilities in a nurturing environment.

The position offers flexible hours, approximately 10 hours per week, with sessions conveniently held at the local public library. You’ll partner closely with family members who are committed to their child's educational journey. The anticipated start date is August 10, aligning with the beginning of the new school year.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience as a paraprofessional, tutor, or similar role in a school or educational setting
• Patience, warmth, and strong communication skills
• Ability to set clear structure and limits while building positive relationships
• Understanding of social-emotional learning strategies
• Creative approach to engaging students, adapting to individual needs
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a student’s family
• Reliability and flexibility with schedule

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 tutoring in core academic subjects and executive functioning skills
• Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere
• Help set achievable goals and celebrate successes with your student
• Implement consistent routines and boundaries to motivate progress
• Communicate regularly with the student's guardian about milestones and strategies
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment during tutoring sessions
