Special Education Para Professional in Block Island, RI

We are seeking two dedicated paraprofessionals to join a nurturing school environment for a full academic year. Position 1 involves providing vital 1:1 support to a student, along with covering other duties as needed throughout the day. Position 2 centers around supporting classroom instruction—helping both teachers and students to ensure a positive and engaging learning environment. Both positions are full-time, with hours from 7:50 AM to 2:10 PM during the school week.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Commitment to supporting students and fostering a positive school climate
• Adaptable, reliable, and able to manage shifting priorities and needs
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional is welcomed, but not required
• RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification preferred—support in obtaining this certification will be provided if needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Must be able to reside on Block Island during the work week due to ferry transportation schedules

Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one support or classroom-based assistance as assigned
• Contribute to student engagement, safety, and inclusion
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to carry out instructional plans
• Help manage classroom routines and transitions effectively
