Instructional Assistant - Blue Springs, Missouri

Embark on a flexible contract opportunity as a paraprofessional, supporting students in a dynamic and rewarding school setting near Blue Springs, MO. Work per diem and choose your own schedule—whether you’re available one or five days a week, you’ll play an essential role in special education classrooms across a network of 33 elementary, middle, and high schools. Assignments may involve working 1:1 with students or as a classroom aide, focusing on students with behavioral needs and following Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Some roles may require assistance with toileting or other personal care.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Active substitute or paraprofessional certification with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), or in process (must be active before start)
• Previous experience in schools and with student behavior management
• Willingness to obtain district-specific fingerprint clearance
• Flexibility and adaptability to different school environments and age groups
• Professionalism when supporting students with behavior needs and following BIPs

Your role:

• Support special education classrooms across the district
• Assist with classroom management and provide individualized student support
• Implement BIPs and collaborate with staff as needed
• Adapt to varying assignments and follow protocols for student safety and care
