Key Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active substitute certificate (SUB cert) on DESE (or proof you are completing the process before your start date)
• Previous experience in schools and with behavioral support, including implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Willingness to assist with daily care, including toileting, if required
• Comfortable working 1:1 or as a classroom aide supporting students with a range of needs
• Prepared to complete fingerprinting specific to North Kansas City requirements
• If you have worked with this district previously, please confirm eligibility before proceeding

What You’ll Do:

• Provide support in SPED classrooms and directly assist students with behavioral or special needs
• Follow direction from classroom teachers or supervisors, adapting to classroom routines
• Respond to daily call outs for coverage—choose 1–5 days per week as available
• Shift schedules provided in advance via the spindle app, including school and assignment details
• Collaborate closely with staff to ensure a positive, supportive learning environment

Additional Details:

• Assignment dates: August 25 – May 28
• Hourly pay rate: $20.00, paid only for time worked (per diem basis)
• Work hours vary by assignment and school level
