Teacher's Aide - Blue Springs, Missouri

This contract opportunity is based near Blue Springs, MO, serving a specialized classroom at the elementary level. You'll play an essential role in shaping positive school experiences for students in a self-contained environment focused on moderate to severe cognitive, developmental, or multiple disabilities.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or Instructional Assistant preferred
• Familiarity with or interest in working with students in a life skills, essential skills, or functional skills program
• Ability to assist with behavior management, individualized supports, and daily classroom routines
• Comfortable providing personal care and academic support to elementary-aged children (grades K-5)
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic demeanor
• Collaborative spirit to work effectively with teachers, therapists, and school staff

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teachers in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and classroom activities
• Support students with daily tasks, social skills, communication, and adaptive behaviors
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and safe environment for all learners
• Document student progress and communicate observations to the educational team
• Adapt materials and instructions as needed for diverse learners
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
