Special Education Para Professional in Bolingbrook, IL

Make a difference every day by working as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting students with special needs in an engaging school environment near Bolingbrook, IL. This contract role runs from ASAP through the last day of the current school year. With a weekday schedule from 8:15 am to 3:30 pm (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), this position offers 33.75 paid hours weekly, allowing you to build lasting relationships and provide essential guidance to students.

In this role, you’ll be assigned to work 1:1 with a student (K–18, age to be determined), providing support for social and emotional behaviors and assisting with daily routines—including potential toileting and diapering needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school or special education environment is highly preferred
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability in supporting students with social/emotional and behavioral needs
• Comfort with providing direct support including toileting and diapering as necessary
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with teaching staff and special education team
• Reliability, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one support throughout the school day to encourage learning, participation, and positive behavior
• Assist students with daily routines, activities, and transitions within the classroom
• Implement individualized plans to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Provide personal care, including toileting and diapering as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and open communication with teachers and support staff
