Instructional Assistant - Bonaire, Georgia

Support students in a visually impaired educational setting as a dedicated paraprofessional, working full-time from 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. The role is based in Macon, GA. Daily travel will be required for candidates located nearby.

Ideal attributes and qualifications:

• Active Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate required (must have passed the Paraprofessional GACE)
• Demonstrated experience working in schools, particularly with students with disabilities or those who are visually impaired, is preferred
• Clear communication skills and the ability to follow teacher direction
• Genuine patience, empathy, and reliability when assisting students with varying needs
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability to support individual and group learning activities
• Ability to collaborate professionally with teachers, staff, and families

Key responsibilities include:

• Offering instructional and behavioral support to students with visual impairments as directed by educational staff
• Assisting with classroom management, mobility guidance, and adaptive equipment as necessary
• Helping to prepare specialized learning materials and setting up classroom environments
• Encouraging a positive, inclusive, and accessible educational experience for all students
• Maintaining confidentiality and upholding all school procedures and policies
