Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Previous work or volunteer experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or in a related student support position
• Familiarity with special education practices and the ability to adapt to various student learning needs
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with teachers and other staff members
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students succeed
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism within an educational setting
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in education or child development is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students under the direction of certified teachers or special education staff
• Assist with classroom management, instructional activities, and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed
• Help prepare materials, supervise students during activities, and support students with personal or behavioral needs
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborate with specialists to meet the needs of all students
• Foster a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment
