If you have a passion for making a meaningful difference in a young person's life, an exciting opportunity awaits you as a 1:1 Paraprofessional supporting a medically fragile middle school student. This rewarding contract role begins as soon as possible and continues through June 11th, 2027, and offers full-time hours at 35 per week.

You'll have the chance to offer individualized support and encouragement, helping a nonverbal student fully participate in their school experience. Your compassion, patience, and attentiveness will have a lasting impact, and experience with g-tube care and toileting will be especially valued as you manage the student's unique medical and personal care needs.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience as a paraprofessional in school settings
  • Strong commitment to supporting students with significant medical needs
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, g-tube feeding
  • Capability to assist with toileting and hygiene care
  • Comfort working with nonverbal students and using alternative communication methods
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with students and collaborate with education and medical staff
  • Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach to individualized learning

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, caring 1:1 support to a middle school student throughout the school day
  • Assist with academic tasks, classroom participation, and social engagement
  • Attend to the student’s medical needs including feeding and toileting as required
  • Communicate observations, progress, and any concerns to appropriate school staff
  • Maintain a safe and encouraging learning environment
  • Adapt support strategies as the student’s needs evolve over time
