Multiple full-time and part-time positions are available within day school programs serving children and young adults ages 3 to 21. As a Paraprofessional, your skills will help foster growth and provide meaningful educational experiences to students with a wide spectrum of moderate to severe needs, including cognitive, physical, and behavioral challenges.
You'll play a critical role in enriching the academic and social development of students with multiple disabilities, including those with visual and hearing impairments and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued
- Background in supporting students with cognitive, physical, or behavioral needs
- Ability to assist with personal care, mobility, and communication for students when needed
- Comfort in implementing behavior intervention and support plans
- Flexibility to work with various age groups (3–21 years)
- Effective communicator and collaborator with both educators and families
- Willingness to receive ongoing training and adapt to student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized or small group support to students throughout their school day
- Assist with classroom management and the implementation of instructional activities
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual student goals
- Support students with mobility, self-care, and daily living activities as required
- Document student progress and behavior notes, as directed
