This full-time position involves providing crucial 1:1 assistance primarily to students on the autism spectrum and those managing behavioral challenges. With 32.5 hours per week, you’ll offer meaningful support alongside seasoned educators, with classrooms typically containing 5-7 students, each receiving personalized, 1:1 attention.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years of prior experience working with students with behavioral or special education (SPED) needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within a classroom environment
  • Compassion, patience, and flexibility when navigating challenges or adapting to students’ needs
  • Willingness to assist students requiring support with toileting or personal care when necessary

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 support to students, ensuring their participation, safety, and success throughout the day
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to foster an inclusive, supportive environment
  • Implement individualized strategies and supports per students' plans and needs
  • Facilitate positive interactions, monitor behavior, and encourage progress toward social and academic goals
  • Provide essential care duties, including assistance with toileting if needed
