This full-time contract role offers 32.5 hours per week, working in a dynamic educational environment near Bristol, CT. You’ll make a direct and lasting impact by providing essential 1:1 and classroom support for students, primarily serving those on the Autism Spectrum who present a range of behavioral challenges from mild to extreme.

Your Role:

• Deliver individualized, 1:1 assistance for students, with classrooms averaging 5-7 children—each supported by a dedicated paraprofessional.
• Employ behavioral support strategies to foster positive development and learning outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to adapt and implement lesson plans and interventions.
• Assist with daily routines, which may involve supporting students with toileting needs.
• Maintain reliability and consistency to provide a stable, supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 1-2+ years of previous experience in behavioral support or special education settings required.
• Demonstrated ability to work empathetically and patiently with children exhibiting behavioral challenges.
• Reliable, flexible, and committed to fostering an inclusive educational environment.
• Comfortable with high-intensity, dynamic classroom settings, including students requiring close supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
