Qualifications:
- Status as a “highly qualified para” is required
- ONE of the following:
- Completed at least two years of college credits (60 semester credits or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Hold an associate degree or higher
- Successfully pass a formal assessment (such as the ParaPro test) or Competency Grid
- Experience working with children or in educational settings is preferred
- Strong communication skills, patience, and teamwork abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to teachers and students, adapting to individual learning needs
- Assist with instructional materials and classroom activities
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student confidence and engagement
- Assist students with daily tasks and ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Document and track student progress under teacher guidance
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a supportive educational environment
