Key Qualifications:
- Registered with DEEDS (Delaware's Department of Education)
- Experience supporting students as a paraprofessional or in behavior intervention roles
- Comfortable and confident working with students who have high needs, including providing de-escalation and creative behavioral support techniques
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a collaborative approach
- Ability to adapt quickly and maintain a positive attitude in changing situations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom support to middle school students, fostering their academic and social success
- Implement and reinforce individualized behavior management strategies as outlined by the educational team
- Work closely with teachers, counselors, and related service providers to adapt materials and instructional methods
- Offer encouragement, mentorship, and consistent guidance throughout the school day
- Monitor, redirect, and document student behaviors to support ongoing assessments and interventions
- Maintain an engaging, supportive, and safe classroom environment
