Special Education Paraprofessional in Canonsburg, PA

Two full-time paraprofessionals are needed to fill essential positions while permanent staff are on leave. These contract opportunities offer the chance to make a meaningful difference across either a high school or elementary setting, with the potential to extend into summer and the following school year depending on leave duration.

Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role strongly preferred
• Familiarity with life skills or special education classrooms is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
• Dependable, patient, and flexible in adapting to varying classroom needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant coursework or certifications are valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students one-on-one or in small groups within a classroom environment
• Assist with classroom management, instructional activities, and academic tasks under teacher direction
• Provide guidance and supervision in daily life skills for students in designated classrooms
• Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student growth
• Communicate effectively with staff and support individualized student needs
• Follow district policies and maintain confidentiality regarding student information

There are two openings:

• High School: 7:15 am – 2:45 pm
• Elementary School: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
