Classroom Assistant | Chickamauga, Georgia

If you have experience supporting students in special education settings and are dedicated to making a difference, consider an opportunity as a paraprofessional in a self-contained resource classroom. This full-time, contract role spans from now through May 21st, 2027, offering 37.5 hours per week. In this position, you’ll work closely with students who have a range of special education needs, providing essential assistance—sometimes including toileting support—to help them succeed in their daily activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active GaPSC Paraprofessional Educator Certificate preferred
• If certification is not held, an Associate’s degree or completion of the Para GACE exam is required
• Prior experience in special education or ABA settings is a plus
• Comfort and patience in supporting students with diverse needs
• Ability to assist with personal care and daily living skills as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Partnering with special education teachers to implement instructional and behavioral programs
• Providing individualized and small-group support to students
• Assisting with daily routines, classroom activities, and personal care
• Promoting a positive learning environment and fostering student independence
• Maintaining a compassionate, professional demeanor in all interactions
• Supporting effective communication between teachers, families, and students
