Classroom Aide | Cibolo, Texas

Step into a meaningful role supporting students as an American Sign Language paraprofessional within a dynamic educational setting near Cibolo, TX. This contract-based opportunity begins as soon as possible, extending through the end of May 2027, and offers full-time hours (37.5 per week) primarily on-site. You'll be instrumental in assisting students with hearing loss, focusing on either Highlands High School or Mission Academy—both campuses are a convenient 13-minute drive apart, with a current combined caseload of approximately 40 students ranging from elementary to high school ages. Placement at the specific campus will align with needs determined during interviews, which are scheduled for the last week in October.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• One of the following:
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • At least 48 college semester hours recognized by a Texas or regional educational agency, plus successful completion (minimum 70% score) of a paraeducator course (Stedi.org)
  • Relevant pediatric or school-based experience, especially with children who have hearing loss
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Fingerprinting and background check required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and prior paraprofessional/school support experience is highly valued

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one and small group support to students with hearing loss
• Provide classroom assistance under teacher direction
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and communication-rich environment
• Bridge communication between students, teachers, and staff using ASL
• Monitor student progress and assist in implementing individualized education plans
