This full-time contract opportunity spans Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, placing you at the center of a dynamic classroom environment alongside dedicated educators.

As a teaching assistant, you’ll work closely with both teachers and students to promote a positive learning atmosphere. Your daily contributions will play a significant part in shaping young minds and supporting students with diverse educational needs—including those who benefit from individualized attention or who face behavioral challenges. Reliability, compassion, and the ability to foster trust with students are essential in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in managing classrooms, maintaining a productive and nurturing environment.
• Provide individualized and 1:1 support for students as necessary.
• Help facilitate engaging classroom activities and assist with daily learning sessions.
• Provide support with toileting needs as required, ensuring student dignity and wellbeing.
• Adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing educational setting.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Para certification is required.
• At least two years of direct classroom experience, with a strong preference for those who’ve supported elementary-aged children displaying challenging behaviors.
• Experience with toileting support is highly valued.
• Positive communication skills and flexibility in a school environment.
• Ability to supply at least two professional references, including names, email addresses, and contact details.
