Classroom Assistant | Cicero, Illinois

Become an essential support in a vibrant educational environment by working closely with a student as a one-on-one paraprofessional. This contract role, situated near Cicero, IL, runs from now through the end of the school year, providing meaningful opportunities to contribute each day. You'll have a consistent weekday schedule, working 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, earning 33.75 paid hours per week.

In this position, you will offer individualized assistance and encouragement to a student between kindergarten and age 18. With each interaction, you'll help foster social and emotional growth, respond to unique needs, and promote a supportive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar supportive educational role
• Ability to work effectively one-on-one with students, particularly those demonstrating social or emotional behavioral needs
• Comfort with or willingness to provide toileting and diapering support as needed
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and adaptability within dynamic school environments
• Compassion, patience, and a collaborative spirit

Role Responsibilities:

• Direct, individualized support for a student throughout the school day
• Assisting with behavioral, social, and emotional development
• Aiding with daily tasks and physical needs, including possible toileting or diapering
