Classroom Aide | Cicero, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact by providing dedicated support in a welcoming elementary school environment located in the North Chicago area. This full-time contract opportunity runs ASAP through January 3, 2027, covering the 2026-2027 school year. Working Monday through Friday for 35 hours a week, you’ll collaborate closely with classroom teachers to make each day a positive experience for students.

In this vital role, you will:

• Assist the lead teacher with classroom management and instruction, ensuring all students benefit from an engaging learning environment.
• Provide direct 1:1 and group support during class activities and lessons for elementary-aged students, especially those with challenging behaviors.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging atmosphere to facilitate growth and development.
• Support students during transitions, classroom routines, and in special activities both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist with toileting and personal care as needed, handling each task with empathy and professionalism.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Current Illinois Paraprofessional Certification (required)
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, particularly with elementary students and challenging behaviors
• A strong sense of patience, flexibility, and effective communication skills
• Preference given to those with experience supporting toileting needs
• Comfort working collaboratively as part of a dynamic school team
