Special Education Para Professional in Clarks Summit, PA

A vibrant district near Clarks Summit, PA is seeking dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time, contract-based opportunity running from now through June 8, 2027. Multiple positions are available: at least five are confirmed, with the possibility of up to eight hires.

Enjoy a fulfilling school-day schedule: 7 hours per day, with shifts from either 7:30 am to 2:30 pm or 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (assignment dictates the shift, but both sites are on the same campus). Be part of a committed, collaborative educational team in a supportive environment.

Qualifications:

• One of the following is required:
  • Two years of postsecondary study
  • An Associate’s degree or higher
  • High school diploma plus completion of 8 hours of required coursework (can be fulfilled during onboarding)
• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or personal care assistant is a plus
• Comfort with assisting students with disabilities, including toileting support as needed
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
• Willingness to work 1:1 with students in a school setting

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support for students with disabilities, ensuring their safety and participation
• Assist with daily needs, including personal care and mobility
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and special education staff
• Implement educational and behavioral plans under guidance of certified educators
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment
