Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or similar role in a school setting
- Strong background working 1:1 with pediatric students, including those with special needs
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and individualized instruction
- Ability to build rapport with students and collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff
- Clear communication skills and a compassionate approach to student care
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant coursework or certification preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to an assigned student throughout the school day
- Assist with academic tasks, classroom routines, and social integration
- Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under teacher direction
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and special education staff
- Encourage student independence while ensuring their safety and wellbeing
- Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet individual student needs
- Participate in classroom activities, staff meetings, and training sessions as needed
