Classroom Assistant | Columbus, Ohio

Make a positive impact in a student's daily life by providing essential support as a school paraprofessional. This rewarding contract role is designed for those passionate about helping high school students thrive. Working closely with a single student, you'll start each morning at a local high school, accompany them on the bus to their vocational program, and assist with the return trip each afternoon.

Your day will run approximately from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., following the student's schedule. Consistency, patience, and a collaborative spirit are key in making an immediate difference in their experience and success.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Prior experience working as a paraprofessional, classroom assistant, or in a similar educational support capacity is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a genuine interest in supporting high school-aged students
• Ability to follow plans set by certified educators and collaborate effectively with school staff
• Reliability and punctuality for daily transportation and supervision responsibilities
• Comfortable assisting students with both academic and behavioral needs
• Ability to maintain student confidentiality and uphold school policies

Responsibilities:

• Meet the student each morning at the designated high school location
• Accompany the student on the school bus to and from the vocational program
• Provide supervision, encouragement, and support during transport and transitions
• Follow guidance from teaching staff and school administration in supporting student needs
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment throughout the school day
