Special Education Para Professional in Concord, CA

Support meaningful learning experiences as a Paraprofessional working one-on-one with an elementary school student in a contract position near Concord, CA. This role begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2, 2027. You’ll play a key part in the student’s daily growth by providing assistance in the classroom, supporting both academic and personal development, and fostering an encouraging environment. Your fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) will be essential in ensuring clear communication and positive engagement.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Paraprofessional in a school setting
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
• Comfortable assisting elementary-aged children
• Reliable, patient, and proactive in supporting student needs
• Ability to work effectively within a classroom team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support for an elementary school student, adapting assistance as needed for academic tasks and social interaction
• Facilitate communication between the student, educators, and peers using ASL and other appropriate tools
• Assist with classroom and individualized instruction, following educators’ guidance
• Help implement behavior plans and any accommodations required for student success
• Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communicate updates to the appropriate school staff

Schedule Details:

• Regular school day hours: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• Minimum day hours (Wednesdays): 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
