Instructional Assistant - Coventry, Rhode Island

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students in an intensive classroom environment. This role is located onsite and offers the chance to make a significant impact, working closely with a dedicated team of instructional assistants and educators. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 18, 2027, providing continuity and a stable schedule of 31.25 hours per week.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar school setting preferred
• Eligibility to work as a paraprofessional under Rhode Island Department of Education regulations
• Comfortable assisting students with varying needs, including toileting and changing
• Ability to effectively collaborate with a team of teaching assistants in a group-focused classroom
• Supportive, compassionate attitude with a commitment to student growth and well-being

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in a K-3rd grade intensive classroom with 11 students who have diverse disabilities, including language-based and Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Work collaboratively with six other teaching assistants rotating duties throughout the day
• Provide direct support to students during lessons, activities, and transitions
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and adapt to students’ individual needs
• Support students with personal care needs as required
• Help implement instructional programs and track student progress in partnership with certified staff
