Position Details:
- Full-time, contract role available immediately through June 16, 2027
- Monday through Friday, 8:15am–3:45pm schedule
- Serve an elementary school population, supporting teachers and students in daily activities and behavioral interventions
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or successful completion of Rhode Island Teaching Assistant exam required
- Experience as a Paraprofessional, Teacher’s Assistant, or Behavior Specialist strongly preferred
- Understanding of elementary-age behavioral strategies and ability to implement positive behavior support plans
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organization skills
- Patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to challenges
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instruction and behavior management
- Work one-on-one and in small groups with students, fostering engagement and ensuring success
- Implement interventions and de-escalation techniques in partnership with behavior specialists and school staff
- Support students’ social-emotional learning and create an inclusive, respectful classroom environment
- Track daily progress, participate in team meetings, and communicate observations as needed
