Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting, particularly with students who have moderate to severe disabilities
- Bilingual in Spanish, able to communicate effectively with students and staff
- Comfortable and enthusiastic about working one-on-one with a male high school student
- Familiarity with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Patient, adaptable, and proactive in fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere
- Preferred experience with behavioral support strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, day-to-day assistance to the assigned student, helping with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers and other school professionals to implement IEP goals
- Support the student's inclusion in classroom activities, fostering communication and social skills
- Monitor and redirect behavior as necessary, always maintaining a safe and encouraging environment
- Participate in team meetings, sharing relevant observations and feedback with the support team
This position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, approximately 30-35 hours per week during school times (7:07 AM – 2:10 PM), running through June 9, 2027.
