This position is located in a friendly community near Dalton, GA, and provides an uplifting atmosphere where dedication and compassion are truly valued. The school schedule is being finalized, but the role guarantees at least 17.5 hours per week, with the potential for a full 37.5-hour schedule depending on school needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- GaPSC Paraprofessional Certification (required)
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or working with children strongly preferred
- Comfort with supporting students who are primarily non-verbal
- Experience assisting with basic care tasks, including toileting
- A nurturing, patient, and reliable approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, attentive 1:1 support to a first-grade student throughout their half-day school schedule
- Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and routines
- Support the student’s social and emotional interactions within the classroom setting
- Help with basic care and hygiene as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to deliver an inclusive educational experience
