Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a paraprofessional in a school setting near Daly City, CA. This position offers hands-on experience working closely with students with varying needs and requires a service-oriented mindset and a willingness to be flexible across campus assignments. You will play a critical role in supporting teachers and students daily, and all paraprofessionals must be receptive to performing a wide range of duties as needed, such as toileting, feeding, g-tube feeding, and general care responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s Degree or higher, OR 48 college units and a high school diploma, OR a passing score on the CBEST/instructional aide exam and a high school diploma.
- Specific assignments may require successful completion of CPR/First Aid certification, anti-seizure medication training, or specialty modules related to student healthcare needs (training provided if required).
- For certain roles, experience in sign language or Braille, or a background with behavioral or significant healthcare needs is preferred.
- Must be a true team player and comfortable supporting students in all assigned tasks without limitation.
- Prior paraprofessional school experience within the past two years (~6 months+) is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in educational settings from Pre-K to high school, adapting to classroom and individual needs.
- Provide direct assistance with classroom activities, personal care, and mobility.
- Assist educators with instructional duties and behavior management.
- Be ready to change assignments as needed and work collaboratively with school staff.
- Bus aide positions include riding with students to and from school as part of your day.
Schedules vary depending on assignment (ranging from 22.5 to 40 hours per week).
