Step into a meaningful contract position supporting students as a school-based paraprofessional near Daly City, CA. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the educational experience of children with diverse needs throughout various assignments within the school day.
As a paraprofessional, you’ll work 27.5 hours per week, assisting students with educational, physical, and behavioral support depending on campus needs. Flexibility is key, as assignments may include responsibilities such as toileting, diapering, feeding, G-tube feeding, or other specialized care tasks as determined by the school. Commitment and willingness to take on all aspects of student care are essential—teamwork is at the heart of this position.
Qualifications
Your placement must specifically list “S10/S10A” and any other S-qualifications you hold—transcripts or resumes do not suffice. Minimum qualification pathways include:
- Associate’s Degree or higher, OR
- 48 college units and a high school diploma, OR
- Passing CBEST and a high school diploma, OR
- Passing the instructional aide exam and high school diploma
Additional S-qualification requirements may include: - CPR and first aid certification (training provided)
- Emergency medication and/or physical health procedure modules (if applicable)
- Experience with students with behavioral, social-emotional, or physical support needs
Primary Duties
- Support instructional activities in varied classroom and campus settings
- Provide personal care, health-related assistance, mobility, and communication support
