Make a direct impact on students’ lives as a vital support in an elementary school classroom! As a Paraprofessional/Teacher’s Aide, you’ll assist special education students on their academic journeys and ensure a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment. This contract position offers a full-time, onsite schedule—32 guaranteed hours each week—through the 2023-2024 school year.

You’ll work closely with teachers, students, and families, building important relationships along the way.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a school Paraprofessional essential
  • Proven reliability: punctual, consistent attendance, and strong work ethic
  • Previous experience supporting special education students, including those with challenging behaviors or physical disabilities
  • Comfortable with data collection and progress monitoring
  • Familiarity with special education laws and best practices
  • Empathy, patience, and dedication to fostering learning for students with diverse needs
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to adapt instructional approaches to address varying abilities
  • Eagerness to collaborate with educators and families

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies for different learning styles
  • Collect data to track student growth
  • Assist with classroom organization and student engagement
  • Use assistive technology and resources to support students with special needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents
