Support students with visual impairments as a Paraprofessional in a rewarding full-time, contract opportunity. Based in Macon, GA, this position is for a specialized school focused on empowering students who are visually impaired. Although the school is affiliated with Fulton County, your daily presence will be required in Macon, ensuring you play an active role alongside dedicated educators and staff.

You will provide instructional and adaptive support under the guidance of special education teachers to help foster independence, promote access to the curriculum, and assist with daily classroom activities. Your expertise will ensure each student receives the guidance and encouragement they need to achieve their fullest potential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Paraprofessional certification in Georgia (you must have passed the Paraprofessional GACE and hold an active certification)
  • Prior experience supporting students in educational settings, preferably those with visual impairments, is highly valued
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and a collaborative attitude
  • Availability to commit to a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm
  • Ability to reliably commute daily to Macon, GA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with visual impairments in both classroom and mobility settings
  • Support individualized instruction plans as directed by classroom teachers
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials using accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio)
  • Reinforce learning objectives, offering encouragement, and providing feedback
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, and transitions safely
