Qualifications & Experience:
- Two completed professional RefAssured references are required for consideration.
- Prior paraprofessional experience, particularly in school settings.
- Strong background in behavior management.
- Experience supporting individuals with significant or severe needs is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with communication devices is a plus.
- Must possess reliable transportation to ensure prompt arrival by 8:00am daily (public transit, ride-shares, and taxis are not considered reliable for this role).
- Ability and willingness to assist with personal care tasks, including toileting and diapering, as needed.
- Candidates must undergo fingerprinting immediately after offer acceptance; any criminal charges may result in disqualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work 37.5 hours weekly at Transition Services, supporting students ages 18–21+ within both school and community environments.
- Implement behavioral strategies while promoting independence and social skills development.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and carry out student-centered plans.
- Assist students using communication devices to enhance participation.
- Provide personal care support to meet individual student needs.
