Special Education Para Professional in Denver, CO

Make an impact supporting young adults with disabilities as a dedicated paraprofessional in a transition services environment near Denver, CO. This contract position is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team focused on promoting independence and skill development for individuals ages 18–21+.

Candidates must provide two completed professional RefAssured references with their submission—do not submit if these are not included. Reliable transportation to arrive by 8:00 a.m. daily is essential, along with readiness for district-required fingerprinting after accepting an offer.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Strong behavioral support background, especially within educational settings
• Experience with significant or severe caseloads, preferably with young adults
• Prior work utilizing communication devices for students is highly valued
• Comfortable assisting with student personal care, including toileting and diapering, as needed
• Ability to exercise patience, professionalism, and adaptability in a school environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with staff, students, and families
• Flexibility to address diverse student needs in both classroom and community settings

Primary responsibilities:

• Support transition-aged students with disabilities in community and classroom tasks
• Assist with behavioral and communication strategies as directed by educational staff
• Encourage independence, life skills, and participation in community-based instruction
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere for all students
• Provide direct personal care and mobility assistance as required

This full-time contract runs from August 11 through May 21, 2027, at 37.5 hours per week.
