Support a meaningful and impactful role assisting a student as a bus ride paraprofessional in a school setting near Detroit, MI. This contract position seeks a dedicated individual to provide one-on-one supervision and support to a female student with behavioral needs during her daily bus commute. Your presence and attentiveness will be essential in ensuring the student's safety and well-being throughout transportation.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially within school environments
• Strong ability to remain calm, patient, and composed in challenging situations
• Understanding of behavior management strategies and special education needs
• Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to early morning and afternoon shifts
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
• Capable of constant attention and monitoring throughout each shift

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise the student throughout the entire bus ride to and from school
• Monitor for safety, preventing behaviors such as spitting or undressing
• Implement de-escalation and behavior reinforcement strategies as needed
• Communicate student needs and incidents to school staff as required
• Support a safe, respectful, and positive environment within the bus
• Follow all guidelines and protocols for school transportation safety
