Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting high school students with significant needs in a structured educational setting. This role is best suited for paraprofessionals with experience in special education environments, especially those skilled in managing behavioral needs such as aggression, self-injury, and intensive safety concerns. Assignments run Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM during the school year. The first week is a mandatory orientation, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Clearances must be completed by August 13, 2026.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience as a paraprofessional in a PreK-12 special education classroom, specifically with students with autism and behavioral challenges
  • Reside within a 35-minute commute of assignment site
  • Ability to work a full-time, 37.5-hour weekly schedule
  • Commitment to attend a weeklong, mandatory orientation prior to the school year
  • Meet Pennsylvania state paraprofessional requirements (two years post-secondary education, associate’s degree or higher, or successful completion of state/local assessment). If not already certified, candidates must achieve certification within 60 days of starting

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on assistance with toileting, feeding, transfers, diapering, and supporting students with moderate to severe autism and behavioral needs
  • Consistent implementation of safety interventions and behavioral supports in accordance with individualized plans
  • Maintain a positive and organized environment to foster student growth and well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure student needs are met each day
  • Remain proactive, engaged, and flexible throughout the school day
