Location: South Elgin, IL Area
Schedule: Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: May 28, 2027
Setting: 1 School Building

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and student support throughout the school day
• Assist teachers with instructional and classroom activities
• Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
• Assist with classroom routines and transitions
• Reinforce positive behaviors and appropriate classroom expectations
• Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and school personnel
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Provide individualized support to students as directed by the classroom teacher

Qualifications

Associate degree or higher
At least 60 semester hours of college coursework
Passing score on the applicable ParaPro Assessment
Another qualifying pathway recognized by the State of Illinois

• Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
• Special education experience is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, dependable, and compassionate approach to working with students
• Ability to follow classroom and student support plans
• Commitment to helping students succeed
