Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional, instructional aide, or in a similar classroom support role
  • Background working one-on-one with elementary-age students preferred
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
  • Patience, understanding, and the ability to redirect and manage student behavior appropriately
  • Reliability and punctuality, especially with a set daily schedule
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certifications are a plus

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, individualized support to a 2nd grade student during classroom instruction
  • Assist with academic activities, social skills development, and other educational needs
  • Implement strategies set by the teacher and support team to help the student succeed
  • Document student progress and observations as directed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and school staff to adapt materials and activities
