Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, instructional aide, or in a similar classroom support role
- Background working one-on-one with elementary-age students preferred
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
- Patience, understanding, and the ability to redirect and manage student behavior appropriately
- Reliability and punctuality, especially with a set daily schedule
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certifications are a plus
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized support to a 2nd grade student during classroom instruction
- Assist with academic activities, social skills development, and other educational needs
- Implement strategies set by the teacher and support team to help the student succeed
- Document student progress and observations as directed
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and school staff to adapt materials and activities
