Step into a meaningful role supporting students in a specialized setting, working alongside educators at a dedicated center for special education. Your assignment will focus on a Setting 4 site, where students receive Special Education services throughout their entire day. These students, ranging from elementary to high school age, present high needs and often require significant behavioral and physical support—including assistance with toileting. Your flexibility regarding student age is valuable, and your comfort in supporting severe needs is essential for success in this role.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Paraprofessional experience, especially in educational or special education environments.
- Highly qualified status required prior to start:
-- Minimum of 60 college credits (transcripts—diplomas/degrees not accepted)
-- Or passing score on the MN Paraprofessional or Para Educator Exam. - Patience, adaptability, and genuine interest in students with diverse learning and behavioral challenges.
- Willingness to assist with personal care tasks as needed.
- Preference for those comfortable with elementary through high school-aged students.
Responsibilities:
- Support students in all aspects of their daily routines within the classroom and school activities.
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of teaching staff and specialists.
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and respectful environment for all students.
- Collaborate with staff to meet individualized educational and behavioral objectives.
- Assist with toileting and personal care as required, showing professionalism and compassion.
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday contract role (32.5 hours/week), running from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Compensation for this position will be $20 per hour.
