Special Education Para Professional in Elk River, MN

Role Highlights:

• Serve 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Openings are available at Blaine High School, Champlin Park High School, and Coon Rapids High School
• Responsibilities may include academic and behavioral support, instructional assistance, and toileting as needed—all support staff are expected to assist with personal care
• Collaborate closely with school teams and participate in interviews specific to each site

Qualifications:

• Must be classified as highly qualified in any of the following ways:
  • Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam)
  • Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
• Demonstrate compassion, reliability, and the desire to make a meaningful difference for students in a school setting
• Submission of a current resume and a Highly Qualified Document (official college transcripts or passing para exam score) required for application review

What to Expect:

• Start date: Approximately August 31, 2026; contract runs through November 29, 2026
• After completing 422 contracting hours, you’ll be eligible for direct hire consideration with the district
• $20 per hour—direct hire pay calculated by the district and matched as applicable
