Instructional Aide - Elk River, MN

An exciting contract opportunity is available for skilled paraprofessionals at a specialized Setting 4 site, where every day brings the chance to make a meaningful impact. This position is based at a learning center that serves students from elementary through high school who are in Special Education for 100% of their day. The role requires dedication, compassion, and a willingness to assist with all aspects of student care, including toileting.

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must be “Highly Qualified” through one of the following:
  • Passed the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam)
  • 60+ college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas or degrees do not suffice)
• Experience working in special education settings, especially with students exhibiting significant behavioral and developmental needs
• Comfortable supporting students with the highest behaviors and most severe disabilities
• Willing to assist students with personal care and toileting as needed
• Flexible in working with ages ranging from elementary to high school (preference can be discussed)
• Resume and highly qualified documentation must be submitted for consideration

Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing support to students in all aspects of their learning and daily life
• Collaborate closely with educators and other support staff to implement individualized education plans
• Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages student growth and achievement
• Assist in personal care and behavior management as required

This full-time, contract role (32.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday) offers a pay rate of $20 per hour and the unique prospect to transition to a direct hire position after 422 contracting hours, subject to district requirements.
