Make a difference every day supporting students in a specialized educational setting. We are seeking dedicated paraprofessionals for a contract position at a Setting 4 site, where you'll work one-on-one and in groups with students from elementary through high school who receive special education services throughout their entire school day. Located near Elk River, MN, this role is ideal for compassionate professionals who are comfortable working with students exhibiting significant behaviors and complex needs.
In this full-time opportunity (32.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday), you'll play a crucial part in fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring students feel empowered throughout their day.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be Highly Qualified: either by passing the MN Paraprofessional/ParaEducator Exam (attach results) or having at least 60 completed college credits (official transcripts required).
- Experience supporting students in special education settings, particularly with behavioral needs, is highly valued.
- Ability and willingness to assist with toileting and personal care.
- Comfortable and capable working across a variety of age groups (elementary to high school); please indicate age preference if applicable.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and assistance to students with severe disabilities in academic, behavioral, and daily living tasks.
- Work under the guidance of special education teachers and therapists to implement individualized education and behavior intervention plans.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students with personal care needs as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.
