A fulfilling opportunity awaits for a dedicated Paraprofessional to support middle school students in a resource classroom environment. This contract role begins as soon as possible and extends through May 26, 2027, offering the chance to make a positive, long-term impact in an educational setting near Elk River, MN. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, provide direct student support, and help cultivate an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere for learning.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience as a paraprofessional in a school environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Satisfy one of the following educational pathways: – At least two years of completed college coursework (usually 60 semester credits) from an accredited institution – Associate degree or higher – Passing score on approved assessments: ParaPro Assessment (455+) or ParaEducator (65% Instructional Support, 70% Knowledge & Application)
- Effective communication, adaptability, and a strong commitment to supporting students’ diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing instructional plans under the supervision of classroom teachers
- Provide targeted academic and behavioral support to individual students or small groups in a resource classroom setting
- Foster an environment that supports student growth, autonomy, and inclusion
- Help manage classroom activities, reinforce learning expectations, and facilitate smooth daily operations
- Document student progress and collaborate with staff on intervention strategies as needed
This position offers a predictable, school-based schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM – 2:15 PM, totaling 35 hours per week.
