Instructional Assistant - Elk River, MN

A fulfilling opportunity awaits for a dedicated Paraprofessional to support middle school students in a resource classroom environment. This contract role begins as soon as possible and extends through May 26, 2027, offering the chance to make a positive, long-term impact in an educational setting near Elk River, MN. Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of one year experience as a paraprofessional in a school environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Satisfy one of the following educational pathways: – At least two years of completed college coursework (usually 60 semester credits) from an accredited institution – Associate degree or higher – Passing score on approved assessments: ParaPro Assessment (455+) or ParaEducator (65% Instructional Support, 70% Knowledge & Application)
• Effective communication, adaptability, and a strong commitment to supporting students’ diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing instructional plans under the supervision of classroom teachers
• Provide targeted academic and behavioral support to individual students or small groups in a resource classroom setting
• Foster an environment that supports student growth, autonomy, and inclusion
• Help manage classroom activities, reinforce learning expectations, and facilitate smooth daily operations
• Document student progress and collaborate with staff on intervention strategies as needed

This position offers a predictable, school-based schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM – 2:15 PM, totaling 35 hours per week.
