Instructional Assistant - Elk River, Minnesota

The assignment runs from September 8th, 2026 through December 7th, 2026, with working hours from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday.

You'll have the chance to work collaboratively in a well-structured Setting 4 program, guiding and assisting students with diverse needs. After successfully completing 422 contract hours, there is potential for direct hire by the district, offering a unique pathway to longer-term employment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must be highly qualified under one of the following:
  • Completion of at least 60 college credits with official transcripts provided (unofficial transcripts accepted; diplomas/degree certificates do not qualify)
  • Passing score on the Minnesota Paraprofessional or Para Educator Exam (must attach documentation)
• Paraprofessional experience preferred, especially in K-12 settings or similar educational programs
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Collaborative approach with flexibility and adaptability in working environments

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teachers and special education staff in implementing individualized educational plans
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and safe environment for learning and growth
• Assist in small group and one-on-one instruction
• Provide behavioral and emotional support as needed
• Maintain accurate records and engage with students and staff professionally
