Classroom Assistant | Elk River, Minnesota

Contribute to early childhood education by supporting children ages 2½ to 3 in a center-based setting. Qualifications & Experience:

• Highly Qualified status required via one of the following:
  • Successful completion of the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam), or
  • At least 60 college credits with official transcripts (diplomas or degrees alone do not suffice)
• Strong experience or training as a Paraprofessional in early childhood or special education settings preferred
• Ability to provide a current, detailed resume reflecting relevant experience
• Excellent communication, patience, and a collaborative approach with diverse young learners
• Willingness to transition to a direct hire with the school district after completing 422 contract hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Support children ages 2½ to 3 within a center-based educational program
• Collaborate with lead teachers and therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assist with classroom activities, routines, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement
• Foster independence, social skills, and positive behaviors among students
• Maintain ongoing communication with staff and participate actively in team meetings
