This contract opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with significant behavioral, developmental, and physical needs. Several positions are available with elementary (32.5-hour weeks) and high school (37.5-hour weeks) schedules.

Desired Background and Qualities:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or supporting individuals with special needs is highly valued
• Empathy and patience when working with students experiencing challenging behaviors
• Ability to remain calm, supportive, and proactive during physically or emotionally demanding situations
• Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including toileting, diapering, hygiene, feeding, and dressing
• Dependability and the ability to follow behavior intervention plans with fidelity
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with school staff and tracking student progress
• Comfortable with providing supervision in various school environments (classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, transitions)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students throughout the school day to enhance their learning, communication, and social skills
• Assist students with mobility, transfers, and positioning according to training guidelines
• Help manage and de-escalate behaviors such as aggression, elopement, and self-injury in a safe, respectful manner
• Maintain accurate documentation of behaviors and progress, sharing insights with the educational team
• Preserve student dignity and privacy during all interactions, even in challenging moments
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere
