This contract position revolves around providing personalized, 1:1 support to a middle school-aged student, ensuring academic and social growth with the guidance of the teaching team. Your patient, encouraging approach will support the student’s daily engagement, help reinforce critical skills, and foster greater independence within the classroom and beyond.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver consistent, individualized support throughout the school day
• Guide the student through classroom activities, assignments, and daily routines
• Reinforce academic concepts, providing reminders and hands-on help as needed
• Assist with transitions, redirection, and attention during lessons and activities
• Motivate positive communication, classroom behaviors, and self-sufficiency
• Support appropriate participation during less structured times like lunch or school assemblies
• Work collaboratively alongside teachers, special education staff, and fellow support personnel
• Adhere to classroom strategies and student support plans outlined by the team
• Maintain a patient, encouraging, and flexible approach as you respond to the student’s individual needs

What We’re Seeking:

• Previous experience with middle school-aged students preferred
• Background as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, behavior aide, or similar school-based role is valued
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, patient, and committed to 1:1 support
• Comfortable working collaboratively in an educational setting
