Qualifications and Preferred Background:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, teacher’s aide, or similar role in a school environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Demonstrated ability to assist with classroom activities and support instructional goals
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) is preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly, remain patient, and maintain professionalism in a dynamic classroom setting
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic and behavioral support to students under the direction of certified teachers and specialists
- Assist with classroom management, group activities, and one-on-one instruction
- Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations or modifications as directed
- Help prepare learning materials, organize resources, and maintain a safe, positive classroom environment
- Engage with students during learning and recreational activities, encouraging participation and social growth
- Monitor student progress and provide input on observations to the educational team
