Qualifications and Preferred Background:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional, teacher’s aide, or similar role in a school environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with classroom activities and support instructional goals
  • Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) is preferred
  • Ability to adapt quickly, remain patient, and maintain professionalism in a dynamic classroom setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic and behavioral support to students under the direction of certified teachers and specialists
  • Assist with classroom management, group activities, and one-on-one instruction
  • Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations or modifications as directed
  • Help prepare learning materials, organize resources, and maintain a safe, positive classroom environment
  • Engage with students during learning and recreational activities, encouraging participation and social growth
  • Monitor student progress and provide input on observations to the educational team
