Classroom Assistant | Farmington, Connecticut

Make a meaningful difference by supporting students as a Paraprofessional in a dynamic educational setting. This contract role is suited for those dedicated to helping children grow academically and socially, particularly in a 1:1 environment with students who have social emotional and behavioral needs. The assignment covers the period from October 1st to November 30th, with the possibility of extension.

Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or similar role within a school environment
• Familiarity with social emotional and behavioral support strategies
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students in a 1:1 setting
• Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support and guidance to assigned student
• Assist with implementing behavior intervention plans under the direction of educational staff
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
• Support classroom activities and help reinforce positive behavioral outcomes
• Maintain documentation and communicate regularly about student progress
• Ensure a safe, encouraging environment that helps promote student achievement

Scheduled hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. All duties are performed onsite at a local clinic, within a team committed to compassionate, student-centered care.
