Step into a meaningful role supporting student success as a paraprofessional working directly with a high school student with moderate to severe needs. In this onsite contract opportunity, you’ll make a daily difference by fostering growth, independence, and learning in an educational setting tailored to individualized instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a school paraprofessional, particularly in special education or 1:1 support
- Bilingual in Spanish, enabling clear communication with students and families
- Ability to work onsite, providing hands-on assistance
- Preference for male candidates, as support will be provided to a male student
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability in responding to diverse student needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner 1:1 with a high school student, supporting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals throughout the school day
- Reinforce learning objectives and individualized education plan (IEP) strategies under teacher guidance
- Assist with mobility, transitions, and daily living tasks as needed
- Utilize behavior management and communication strategies to ensure a safe, inclusive environment
- Maintain documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with supervising staff
Schedule Details:
- Onsite only, following school hours from approximately 7:07 am to 2:10 pm
- 30–35 hours per week
- Assignment expected through 06/09/2027
