Support the academic and daily success of a visually impaired student as a dedicated Paraprofessional in a full-time, contract role for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity offers you the chance to make a direct impact while working closely with one student, providing guidance, assistance, and advocacy in an educational setting.

This contract position runs from August 13, 2026, through August 21, 2027, with consistent weekday hours (Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week) that support a positive work-life balance. As a Visually Impaired Support Assistant, you’ll be essential in promoting the student’s independence and academic growth within a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Associate degree OR a minimum of 48 semester hours of college credits (degree or transcript required with your application)
• Experience as a paraprofessional or support staff in a school setting, particularly with visually impaired students, is highly preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructions from teachers and specialists
• Patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach to student support

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to the assigned visually impaired student throughout the school day
• Assist with academic activities, adaptive technology, mobility, and classroom participation
• Work collaboratively with teachers, related services, and the school's special education team
• Help foster an inclusive, accessible learning environment
• Support the student's social and emotional well-being
